This month was proof that community, nature, and conversation can heal.
Casting for Calm was proudly hosted by The Brain and Body Coalition in partnership with Scenic Hudson and As One Flight. Together, we’re building spaces where people can connect, recharge, and support one another.
Lines in the water. Feet on the trail. Hearts a little lighter than before.
More Than a Day of Fishing
We fished, we hiked along the water, and we made space for something that doesn’t always get enough attention: mental health. The conversations were honest, with no filters and no judgment. Just people showing up for themselves and each other.
Tables around the event were full of information, resources, and reminders that you are stronger than the storm.
An Unexpected Guest
Word apparently got out, because even a local teenage black bear stopped by to check on his mental health. We appreciated the support, but we did not save him a taco!
What Casting for Calm Is Really About
That’s what Casting for Calm is really about. Not just nature. Not just fishing. But creating a space where healing feels possible and no one has to walk the journey alone.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. You made this more than an event. You made it a community.
We can’t wait to see you at the next one.
