Outdoor Promise Visits City of Newburgh Water Department

Learning what keeps our water flowing!

May 9, 2026 – Outdoor Promise had the opportunity to visit and tour the City of Newburgh Water Department, and it was an incredible informative experience for our team and community.

It was inspiring to gain a behind-the-scenes look at the work that goes into providing clean and safe water to the community every day. From daily operations to ongoing maintenance, the dedication and professionalism of the staff were evident throughout the tour. Their commitment to serving residents is often behind the scenes, but it plays a vital role in keeping our community healthy and running smoothly.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Water Superintendent Wayne Vradenburgh, his team, and City of Newburgh Council Members Giselle Martinez and Ronald Zorilla for attending and supporting this experience. Your presence and engagement helped make the visit even more meaningful for everyone involved.

Experiences like this are an important part of youth and community engagement. They help build awareness and connection to the people, systems, and careers that make our cities function. At Outdoor Promise, we are committed to creating opportunities that encourage learning, spark curiosity, and deepen appreciation for the essential infrastructure that supports everyday life.

We sincerely thank the City of Newburgh Water Department team for welcoming us and sharing your time, knowledge, and expertise with our group.
