Outdoor Promise Featured in Times-Hudson Valley: “Newburgh EJ Fellows Host Community Tree Celebration Oct. 29th”

Outdoor Promise, alongside the Greater Newburgh Parks Conservancy and the Conservation Advisory Council, was highlighted for supporting the Environmental Justice Fellowship’s second community tree celebration. The event, held at Audrey Carey Park, showcased the Fellows’ work identifying tree planting locations and educating residents about tree care. Through these efforts, over 80 trees are being added to Newburgh streets to improve air quality, provide shade, and enhance community green spaces.

This feature demonstrates Outdoor Promise’s commitment to environmental justice and community engagement. By partnering with local youth and residents to expand Newburgh’s urban tree canopy, we promote equitable access to nature, environmental education, and hands-on stewardship—key elements in building healthier, greener neighborhoods.
