The Problem: Families are not spending enough time outdoors. Many students are falling behind nationwide in the critical subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.). Women and minorities are clearly underrepresented in S.T.E.A.M. related fields which account for a growing portion of the job market today and is expected to grow in the future.
Our Mission: Increase exposure and interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) for youth by integrating the study of S.T.E.A.M. concepts with the exploration of the natural world with their families too.
Our Vision: Create a scalable youth outdoor education program that targets disadvantaged youth, incorporating S.T.E.A.M. concepts while also improving physical fitness, academic achievement, and environmental consciousness.
The Opportunity: Taking advantage of the inherent benefits of time spent outdoors and using the natural world as a classroom to explore S.T.E.A.M. concepts. Engaging families and youth in learning via exploration of the world around them.
