Outdoor Promise is part of the 2022 cohort of the Justice40 Accelerator, a nationwide initiative supporting frontline climate justice organizations in accessing federal funding under the Biden/Harris Administration’s Justice40 Initiative. The Accelerator helps community-rooted groups secure grants, navigate complex federal processes, and implement local solutions that address climate change and environmental inequities.
The Justice40 Initiative directs at least 40% of federal climate and clean energy benefits to historically underserved communities, recognizing the disproportionate impact of climate change and environmental hazards on Black, Indigenous, Latino, Asian and Pacific Islander, and low-income communities. As a member of the Accelerator, Outdoor Promise receives technical assistance, training, peer support, and funding to advance programs that promote environmental justice, clean energy access, and healthier communities in Newburgh and the Hudson Valley.
